Belfast researchers create dissolvable 3D-printed patch for skin cancer
Researchers at Queen's University Belfast, led by Rutuja N Meshram and Professor Dimitrios A Lamprou, developed a dissolvable 3D-printed patch using microneedles to deliver curcumin and 5-fluorouracil directly into the skin. The findings were published in Advanced Healthcare Materials, offering a less painful alternative to traditional injections or repeated topical applications for localized skin cancer treatment.
