Nigerian asylum claims in Netherlands rise to 1,917 over two years
Data from the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service reveals that 1,917 Nigerians sought asylum in the Netherlands between 2024 and 2025. Applications increased by nearly six percent year-on-year, with Nigeria ranking sixth among identified nationalities in 2025. The majority of first-instance decisions resulted in rejections.
